EL ELEMENT

PURPOSE:To prevent defective luminescence due to the rupture or the like of a power feed section by insulating the external extracting lead of a transparent electrode layer and a back electrode layer with an insulating film made of polyester film with the thickness 50m or below. CONSTITUTION:An insulating film 6 is inserted between a transparent electrode layer lead 5 and an emitter layer 1, the insulating film 6 covers a connection section between the transparent electrode layer lead 5 and a power feed section 4, part of it is protruded from the end section of the emitter layer 1 to the extracting direction of the transparent electrode layer lead 5, and it is arranged between the transparent electrode layer lead 5 and a back electrode layer 8 to insulate them. The insulating film 6 is made of polyester film with the thickness 50mum or below. Defective luminescence due to the rupture or the like of a power feed section can be prevented.
