TUNGSTEN HALOGEN LAMP BASE

PURPOSE:To save the trouble and shorten a time in an exchanging operation by forming an angle in a base skirt of a single-base tungsten halogen lamp. CONSTITUTION:In a single-base tungsten halogen lamp with a quartz bulb 1 of an airtight container filled with gas and a base 9 fixed, an angle of quad or more is formed at a part 3 of base skirt 5. In case of urgent exchange, the exchanging operation is performed utilizing the angle and the shape of a side 3 because of the high temperature at the quartz bulb 1 immediately after extinction. Therefore, a time required for the bulb exchanging operation can be shortened with the aid of a jig incorporated at the tip end of a bulb exchanging rod, and further, the exchanging operation can be performed independently of the high temperature state of the quartz bulb 1.
