CONTROL DEVICE FOR ENGINE

PURPOSE:To invariably perform proper fuel control by calculating the difference between the combustion state of the air-fuel mixture of the cylinder in the present combustion stroke and the combustion state of the air-fuel mixture of the cylinder in the combustion stroke immediately before, and correcting the set control quantity based on this difference. CONSTITUTION:In a control device controlling the combustion state for each cylinder of a multi-cylinder engine, an adjusting means 17 adjusting the combustion state of the air-fuel mixture for each cylinder is provided, and this adjusting means 17 is controlled by a control means 38 according to the set control quantity. A calculating means 40 which receives the output of a detecting means 39 detecting the combustion state of the air-fuel mixture of each cylinder and calculates the difference between the combustion state of the air-fuel mixture of the cylinder in the present combustion stroke and the combustion state of the air-fuel mixture of the cylinder in the combustion stroke immediately before is provided. The next set control quantity of the adjusting means 17 for the cylinder in the present combustion stroke is corrected by a control quantity correcting means 41 in the direction to improve the combustion state as the calculated difference of the combustion state indicates the further deteriorating direction of the combustion state.
