METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR OPERATING AIR SUPPLY SYSTEM

PURPOSE: To provide the subject method and apparatus having such a scheme that a static pressure is determined within a critical pressure range, and when it lies outside a desired range, a correction is made at one of pressure changing units, and another unit is changed according to the change within another critical pressure range associated with the above correction, thereby properly regulating the units. CONSTITUTION: This method comprises the following practice: a static pressure is determined using a pressure sensor within a critical pressure range 88 at the exit of a bale opener 10 or within another critical pressure range 90 at the exit of a crude dust separator 30, and the pressure is controlled by regulating suction fans 14, 32 and/or an intruded air feed orifice 48, etc.; when the static pressure lies outside a desired range, a correction is made at one of pressure changing units such as a suction fan, and another unit is changed according to the change within another critical pressure range associated with the above correction, and the respectively determined pressures are controlled so as to lie within the corresponding desired ranges by repeated regulation each based on the magnitude of pressure change and its direction.
