METHOD AND DEVICE FOR DRESSING FORM GRINDING WHEEL

PURPOSE:To make a dressing grinding wheel in a circular section abuttable on the outer peripheral face in an elliptical arcuated sectional shape of a form grinding wheel and to execute the dressing of the form grinding wheel having an optional curvature within a constant range by the same dressing grinding wheel, by adjusting the crossed axes angle made by the tangential direction of the form grinding wheel and the axial direction of the dressing grinding wheel. CONSTITUTION:The outer peripheral face of a cylindrical dressing grinding wheel D is abutted on the outer peripheral grinding face of the form grinding wheel S whose outer peripheral grinding face is formed in a recessed arcuated sectional shape so that the axial line of the dressing grinding wheel D and the tangential direction of the form grinding wheel S are made at the specific angle alpha deg.. The form grinding wheel S is then rotated around the axial line while reciprocating the dressing grinding wheel D in the rotational and axial directions around the axial line and the form grinding wheel S is subjected to dressing.
