COLOR DISCHARGE DISPLAY PANEL

PURPOSE:To enhance the brightness and emission efficiency of a color discharge display panel by forming a display cell surrounded by a barrier of cross section in the form of a stepped taper with a certain inclination, and also forming a fluorescent screen all over the inner face of the barrier. CONSTITUTION:A color discharge display panel comprises a set of parallel electrode groups 3 on a back base, a set of small hole groups each surrounded by a barrier of cross section in the form of a stepped taper, a fluorescent screen 4 applied to the inner wall of each of the small hole groups, and another set of parallel electrode groups 1 perpendicular to the set of parallel electrode groups 3. The barrier is formed of an insulative lamination layer consisting of at least two stepped thick films and the set of small hole groups are each located at a crossing point of the set of parallel electrode groups 3 with the other set of parallel electrode groups 1. Thus the electrodes are laminated on the base and so the panel is handled easily even when it is big and disturbance caused by disalignment between electrodes is minimized whereby high brightness is obtained.
