Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To obtain a polyester resin for sealant each consisting of a specific dicarboxylic acid component and glycol component and each containing a specific polycarboxylic acid and polyalcohol at specific amounts and having excellent taste retaining characteristics, breakage strength and elongation, release properties, adhesive properties, etc. CONSTITUTION:A dicarboxylic acid component consisting of >=70mol% terephthalic acid is reacted with a glycol component consisting of 15-85mol% propylene glycol, 85-15mol% ethylene glycol and 0-30mol% 1,4-cyclohexane dimethanol while heating and tri- or poly-functional polycarboxylic acid (e.g. trimellitic anhydride) and/or tri- or poly-functional polyol (e.g. glycerin) are added thereto at a ratio of 0.1-3% based on total acid components and/or total alcohol components and reacted therewith to provide the polyester for sealant used in most inner layer of vessel for beverage.
