HEAT INSULATING STRUCTURE

PURPOSE:To enhance heat insulating performance and, at the same time, lighten the weight of the heat insulating structure concerned by a method wherein heat insulating material made of carbon foam having open-cell structure is housed in a bag-like container produced from non-air-permeable synthetic resin film and, after that, the interior of the container is evacuated and finally the opening of the container is heat-sealed. CONSTITUTION:Heat insulating material 2 made of carbon foam having open-cell structure is housed in a bag-like container 1 produced from non-air-permeable synthetic resin film. Next, the interior of the container 1 is evacuated and, after that, its opening is heat-sealed so as to obtain lightweight heat insulating structure. In this case, in order to give gas barrier properties to the container, aluminum foil 3 layer is laminated to one side of the synthetic resin film, of which the main body of the container 1 is made.
