PURPOSE:To eliminate the anxiety of consuming a battery much more owing to information by ringing a warning tone at the time of off-hooking a handset when the battery is consumed. CONSTITUTION:When the battery 85 is consumed, the warning tone of 100m second width rings twice at the intervals of 100m second immediately after the handset 19 is off-hooked (after 600m second). Since the warning tone rings for plural times immediately after off-hook, it hardly happens that a user does not notice it, and the consumption of the battery can surely be informed. Since the warning tone finishes ringing in about one second from on-hook, it finishes ringing before the handset 19 is held to the ear of the user in a normal case. Thus, the warning tone is prevented from interfering with the listening of a dial tone and the like from a receiver 27, and a voice from the receiver 27 is prevented from interfering with the listening to the warning tone.
