METHOD FOR MEASURING WIRE GUIDE SPAN AND METHOD FOR REALIZING VERTICALLY WIRE ELECTRODE IN WIRE CUT ELECTRIC DISCHARGE MACHINE

PURPOSE:To realize accuracy the vertically in an extremely short time by calculating a distance between upper and lower wire guides and a vertically realizing gauge to utilize positional data obtained for such calculation for data to realize the verticality. CONSTITUTION:One wire guide 2 is located sequentially in four positions and a workpiece mounting bed 10 is moved in every location of the wire guide to obtain a position where a verticality realizing gauge 40 makes contact with a wire electrode 1. Then, these positional data, i.e., four positional data of one wire guide 2 and the contact position data of the verticality realizing gauge 40 and wire electrode 1 in each of the four positions are utilized to be added calculatively to a previously measured distance between the upper and lower ends of a detecting surface of said gauge 40 so that a distance between the wire guide 2 and verticality realizing gauge 40 is figured out. The displacement of the wire guide 2 needed to realize the verticality is figured out by utilizing these data through the calculation and the wire guide 2 is moved according to the result figured out to realize high accuracy verticality in a short time.
