MAGNETIC RECORDING AND REPRODUCING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To easily seek a required picture by adding an offset voltage to a crosstalk component of both adjacent tracks used for noise bar control so as to change the control position of the noise bar depending on the magnitude of the voltage. CONSTITUTION:A recording signal fetched by a head 1 is amplified by a preamplifier and a band pass filter 3 of a next stage extracts a pilot signal from the recording signal. The pilot signal is subtracted at subtraction circuits 4, 4' with a signal selected by an internal oscillator to be an adjacent crosstalk component. The crosstalk component is represented as a voltage by detection circuits 5, 5'. Then the crosstalk component of preceding and succeeding tracks is converted into a voltage and the position of fixed noise bar is decided depending on how much of the offset voltage outputted from an offset generating circuit 7 is added to the detection level of the preceding and succeeding tracks before the component is compared by a comparator circuit 6. Thus, the position of fixed noise bar is varied optionally to easily seek a required picture.
