LOW-BRIGHTNESS OVERHEAD ELECTRIC CABLE

PURPOSE:To make the color tone of an overhead electric cable dark, to roughen the surface, improve corona characteristics, and perform the machining at a low cost by mixing dark powder in a sand material, and. sand blasting. CONSTITUTION:Al strands 11 and an outermost twist layer 12 of an ACSR 1 are provided on a steel core 2 twisted with steel wires, and a dark layer 13 is formed on the surface. Iron oxide powder with the grain size about 100-400 mesh to improve electrolytic corrosion resistance is mixed in alumina with the grain size about 50-200mum at the mixing ratio within the range 20-30vol.%, and a sand blast is applied to form the layer 13. Sand grains collide with the dark powder coated on the surfaces of strands 11, powder is stored in recesses formed or buried on the surfaces, thus dark powder is stuck on the surfaces of Al strands 11 constituting the layer 12, and an overhead electric cable not impairing the environment can be obtained.
