VANISHING SPACER

PURPOSE:To facilitate removal of a strut as a provisionally installed member when its commission is finished, by interposing a plate consisting of a hot melting material between a backing plate and the strut, encapsulating a heater in its inside, and supplying electric power thereto. CONSTITUTION:A heater is encapsulated in a vanishing type spacer 1 in the form of a plate made of a hot melting material. The wire of this heater is exposed to the outside and connected with a power cable, and electric power us supplied. This vanishing spacer is interposed between a strut 3 and a backing plate 2 embedded in an underground wall W, and when this strut 3 as a provisionally installed member has finished its commission, the force in the axial direction of the strut 3 is borne by another structure or member. When current is fed to the spacer 1, the heater emits heat, and the body of spacer 1 melts and drops in liquid state. This allows removal of spacer 1 simply, certainly, and safely.
