Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To impart sufficient corrosion resistance, wear resistance and heat resistance to all kinds of corrosive fluid by forming the layer of a titanium nitride on the surface of the pump member. CONSTITUTION:The pump member made of a Ti alloy is constituted of Ti or Ti alloy and formed with the layer of the Ti nitride on the surface. The production of the pump member is executed by housing the pump member 1 constituted of the Ti or Ti alloy into a treating chamber 10 and introducing the gas of a 1st group constituted of N2, NH3 or the mixture composed thereof and the gas of a 2nd group constituted of H2, rare gas or the mixture composed thereof into the treating chamber 10. The pressure in the chamber 10 is reduced down to a prescribed pressure and the pump member is heated by a heater 41. Only the gas of the 1st group is filled in the chamber 10 and cooled down to a prescribed temp., by which the nitride layer is formed on the surface of the pump member.
