MULTI OPTICAL FIBER CONNECTOR

PURPOSE:To prevent sequential connecting characteristics from being dropped and to establish long and stable reliability by forming an optical fiber storing groove only on the base side, forming the optical fiber pressing face of a keep plate like a plate, and asymmetrically forming each guide pin pressing groove about the base side groove so that the centers of the optical fiber and the guide pins are arranged on a virtual center line. CONSTITUTION:A V groove 10 storing the optical fiber 6a is formed only on the base (3) side an the optical fiber pressing face of the pressing plate 4 is formed like a plate. The lower groove 9a and upper groove 9b of an engaging fixing groove 9 storing and fixing each guide pin 2 are vertically and asymmetrically formed and constituted so that the centers of the optical fiber 6a and the guide pins 2 exist on a virtual center line A in the engaging state of the guide pin 2. Consequently, a pair of ferrules can be optionally positioned and connected in the vertical direction, the matching accuracy of the optical fiber can be sufficiently secured, and even when adhesives flows into the positioning groove, a lacking trouble due to the guide pins can be solved without deteriorating the accuracy.
