IMPROVED SPLIT SEALING RING

PURPOSE: To effectively protect a split sealing ring against extrusion in the axial direction and in the radial direction by providing a cut to form a clearance to facilitate connection and disconnection of the ring diagonally by crossing the ring from an inner surface in the radial direction to an outer surface in the radial direction. CONSTITUTION: A cut is provided by crossing a backup ring 10 from an inner surface 12 in the radial direction to an outer surface 14 on the ring 10 so as to form a clearance to facilitate connection and disconnection. An inclined direction of this cut surface crosses the ring 10 roughly in the radial direction, roughly in parallel with a shaft and establishes a first standard surface 30 passing it, a second standard surface 32 is roughly orthogonal with the first standard surface 30, positioned in the middle of a first shaft surface 16 and a second shaft surface 18 and extends, and a first standard line 34 is decided. A third standard surface 36 is orthogonal with both of the standard surfaces 30, 32, positioned in the middle of the inner surface 12 and the outer surface 14 and extends, and second and third standard lines 38, 39 are established. Additionally, the cut surface is inclined at a specified angle against the second standard surface 32 and the first standard line 34 and at a specified angle against the third standard surface 36 and the third standard line 39.
