Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To contrive low power consumption, and also, to make the illumination uniform by leading a light beam of a light source to a light guiding body through plural pieces of optical fibers. CONSTITUTION:On the left and the right side faces of a light guiding body 3 arranged at the back of a liquid crystal display element, a light source 4 is provided. In this state, the light beam of this light source 4 is led to many parts of the upper and the lower side faces of the light guiding body 3 through many pieces of optical fibers 5. In such a manner, since the light beam of the light source 4 is led to the light guiding part 3 by many pieces of optical fibers 5, the number of light sources 4 can be decreased remarkably, low power consumption can be contrived, and also, by illuminating many parts of the light guiding body 3 by a few light sources 4, uniform illumination is obtained.
