Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To provide an anti-ulcer agent having an excellent protective factor- promoting activity and extremely low toxicity by containing a specific thiazine-1,1-dioxide derivative as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION:An anti-ulcer agent contains a compound of the formula [R1 is 2-COOH, 3-COOH, 4-COOH or 2-(5'-tetrazoyl); R2 is H, further NO2 when R1 is 2-COOH] as an active ingredient. The compound of the formula wherein R1 is 2-(5'-tetrazoyl) group has especially an excellent anti-ulcer activity and is prepared by condensing 4-hydroxy-2-methyl-3-methoxycarbonyl-2H-1,2- benzothiazine-1,1-dioxide with 2-(5'-tetrazoyl)-aniline.
