Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To produce the above element with a simple structure at a low cost without requiring many stages by laminating a liquid crystal-dispersed polymer layer formed by dispersing liquid crystal particles into a polymer matrix on a conductor layer. CONSTITUTION:The liquid crystal-dispersed polymer layer 4 formed by dispersing the liquid crystal particles into the polymer matrix 4a is laminated on the conductor layer 3. An electric field is eventually impressed between the surface of the liquid crystal-dispersed polymer layer 4 by charging static electricity on the surface of the liquid crystal-dispersed polymer layer 4 in this case, by which the liquid crystal molecules in the liquid crystal particles are oriented in the electric field direction and the transmitted quantity of light is changed. Electrostatic display is thus possible. The display element is produced with the simple structure at the low cost in this way without requiring the many stages.
