MAGNETIC RECORDING AND REPRODUCING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To prevent a magnetic tape from being damaged in the case of loading by providing another tape guide to be separated from between a drum circumferential plane and the magnetic tape in recording/reproduction between the circumferential plane of a rotary head drum and the magnetic tape to be loaded. CONSTITUTION:Three another tape guides 31 are arranged at a tape bus system 4A around the rotary head drum 4 whose rotation is stopped before the magnetic tape 10 is loaded on the tape bus system 4A around the drum 4 via a ring 30. The tape 10 in a cassette is loaded with the tape guides 13, 14 of a pair of sliders 15, 16 being reciprocated along the guide grooves 17a, 18a of a pair of guide frames 17, 18 and the pair of guide grooves 3a, 3b of a frame 3. Thereby, since no tape 10 is brought into contact with the circumferential plane 4a of the drum 4 in the case of loading, the damage of the tape 10 can be surely prevented from occurring.
