PURPOSE:To obtain an image exhibiting a sharp red color suitable for impression of seals, red writing utensils, etc., and having high hiding power by using a combination of a red pigment selected from a specified group and a red pigment selected from another specified group. CONSTITUTION:A colorant uses a combination of at least one kind of red pigment selected from the first group consisting of C.I. Pigment Red 149, C.I. Pigment Red 53:1 and C.I. Pigment Red 48:1 in terms of the third editition of Color Index, and at least one kind of red pigment selected from the second group consisting of C.I. Pigment Red 177 and C.I. Pigment Red 222. A ratio of the used red pigment of the first group to that of the second group is 1:0.2-1:2, and the total weight of the used red pigment is 1-20, preferably 3-10% of the weight of a resin. A toner is controlled to >=30% in hiding power. The obtained image is given a sharp red color suitable for impression of seals and red pigment utensiles and a high opacifying power by using this red toner.
