METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CASTING CLEAN CAST SLABS HAVING DIFFERENT STEEL KINDS AT THE SAME TIME

PURPOSE:To enable castings of clean cast slabs having different steel kinds at the same time without raising tapped molten steel temp. by using two steps of tundishes to the molten steel from a ladle and assigning the work of adjustment of components in molten steel and cleaning to each tundish. CONSTITUTION:The molten steel 4 carried with the ladle 2 is poured into a pouring vessel 12 surrounding with parting walls 16A, 16B through a long nozzle 6, and by causing to over-flow each parting wall 16A, 16B, this is poured into divided parting vessels 18A, 18B in a first step tundish 8. The components of the molten steel 4 is adjusted to each different kind of molten steel 4A, 4B by adding alloys from component adjusting devices 20A, 20B. Successively, the different kinds of molten steel 4A, 4B are poured into a second step tundishes 24A, 24B corresponding to each kind through sliding nozzles 26A, 26B, respectively. In the second step tundish 26A, 26B, non-metallic inclusion is floated and separated to the center part with molten steel stirring device 28A, 28B of electromagnetic stirring device, etc., and cleaned.
