FIELD WELDING AND CONNECTING METHOD FOR SQUARE STEEL TUBE PILLARS BY THICK PLATE ASSEMBLY

PURPOSE:To improve field welding and connecting efficiency by providing spacers proceeding to outer corner parts from end face inner corner parts in end connection welding of the thick plate assembly welding square steel tube pillars. CONSTITUTION:In connecting the end of a square steel tube pillar 1 by the thick plate assembly by welding, the spacers 2 extending toward the outer corner parts from the inner corner parts are fixed on the four corner parts of the end face of the one square steel tube pillar 1. The ends of the square steel tube pillars 1 and 3 are then connection by welding in a state with the end face of the other square steel tube pillar 3 opposed to the tops of the respective spacers 2. Consequently, end tabs are not necessary and further, gouging is not necessary, so field welding and connecting can be easily carried out with high efficiency at the low cost.
