PROCESS FOR STRANDED WIRE

PURPOSE:To absorb twist-back, and to prevent increase in outer diameter, so as to facilitate the process for a stranded wire by applying a twist to the stranded wire continuously or intermittently, in the direction where the outer diameter is gradually decreased, at the time the stranded wire is supplied to the point of process. CONSTITUTION:The supply from a drum 1 to a point of process 3 is carried out by a self-support rotating stand 8. By continuously twisting and rotating the drum 1 through the rotational driving from the self-support rotating stand 8, at a slow speed so as not to generate a bird cage 2A just in front of the point of process 3, the twisting is applied to the stranded wire in a direction where its outer diameter is gradually narrowed. Or otherwise, by intermittently rotating the drum 1 through the rotational driving from the self-support rotating stand 8, at a time interval so as not to generate a bird cage 2A, the twisting is intermittently supplied to the stranded wire 2 in a direction where its outer diameter is gradually narrowed. By so doing, the generation of the bird cage 2A can be prevented.
