Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To switch the recording mode to a stereophonic mode and a monaural mode by using that for two channels as an input jack for an external microphone and discriminating a DC level of the input jack. CONSTITUTION:An input jack 1J for an external microphone is used for a stereo, and has a hot side contact LC for the left channel, a hot side contact RC for the right channel, and a cold side contact CC. The contacts LC, RC are connected to DC power sources 4L, 4R for the external microphone through buffer resistors 3L, 3R. A discriminating circuit 50 discriminates whether the external microphone connected to the jack 1J is for stereophonic use or for monaural use from levels of DC voltages VL, VR of the contacts LC, RC of the jack 1J, and outputs a signal Sm. The signal Sm is supplied to switch circuits 22, 23 as its control signal. In such a way, stereophonic recording and monaural recording are switched.
