PURPOSE:To output a monaural output and a stereo output selectively automatically by discriminating an external device connecting to a sound output jack used in common for a monaural signal and a stereo signal. CONSTITUTION:A video signal SV from a terminal TV is outputted to a hot contact of an output jack 11 through a 4.5Hz trap circuit 41 and a DC voltage DC at a terminal TD is outputted to a hot contact of a jack 12, an audio signal SL of the terminal TL is fed to one contact of a switcher circuit 42 and signals SL, SR at the terminals TL, TR are fed to an adder circuit 18, from which a monaural signal SM is generated and the monaural signal SM is fed to other contact of the switch circuit 42. On the other hand, a signal SR at the terminal TR is outputted to a hot contact of an output jack 15 and cold contacts of output jacks 11, 12, 15 are connected to ground. Moreover, the cold contact of the output jack 12 connects to a base of a level detection transistor(TR) 43 and the collector output Sd is fed to the switch circuit 42 and the trap circuit 41 as the control signal.
