Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To add a function for control of the moved variable and the moving direction of a buoy on a display screen by providing a pad containing an uneven grid pattern and controlling the moved variable and the moving direction of the buoy in accordance with the position and the moving direction of a mouse on the pad. CONSTITUTION:An optical mouse 9 consists of a push button 1, a control module 2, a timer 3, a light emitting element 4, a light receiving element 5, and a housing 6. The position information and the movement information detected by the element 5 are supplied to the module 2. Then the data are processed and supplied to a computer main body 8 via a cord 7. Thus the moved variable and the moving direction of a buoy are controlled for the main body 8. A pad contains a grid pattern which differs between the center and circumference parts of the pad. A function is added to the mouse 9 for control of the moved variable and the moving direction of the buoy when the mouse 9 moves to the circumference part from the center part of the pad. As a result, the control of the buoy can be changed in various ways.
