WASHING MACHINE

PURPOSE:To prevent an adverse effect on objects to be washed resulting from iron ions contained in water supplied to a dewatering tank by providing an ion exchange equipment having an anode and a cathode to which direct current is applied and removing the iron ions contained in the water suppled to the dewatering tank in a water supply path for supplying the water to the dewatering tank. CONSTITUTION:When water is supplied to a washing tank 2 simultaneously with a process for dewatering and rinsing, water in which iron ions are removed by an ion exchange equipment 23 is supplied to the washing tank 2. Separately therefrom, when such a control as to apply voltage to the ion exchange equipment 23 is previously performed during the supply of water to the washing tank 2, the water in which the iron ions are removed may be supplied. In this way, the iron ions can be removed from water supplied to a dewatering tank 11 by the ion exchange equipment 23 provided on the way of a water supply path 19. Thus, the formation of ferric hydroxide caused by dewatering and rinsing can be reduced.
