WORK DEVICE FOR END FACE OF PLASTIC COATING STEEL PIPE

PURPOSE:To enable unmanned processing in on-line, by providing the work machine main body having a work head and spacer plate and an automatic chuck device on an end face work device and automatically machining the plastic coating part end face of a steel pipe. CONSTITUTION:This end face work device is composed of the work machine main body 1 having a work head 2 and spacer plate 3 on the front face and an automatic chuck device 8. When the automatic chuck device 8 holds a plastic coating steel pipe 100, the spacer plate 3 and work head 2 start their advance and a bite 22 goes cutting the end face of a plastic coating part while rotating. At this time the spacer plate 3 precedes a bit (0.1mm) from the edge tip position of the bite 22 and goes approaching to the internal part of the plastic coating part. When the processing is progressed, the spacer plate 3 is abutted on the end face of the steel pipe 100 and an elastic pressure slide device 9 pushes the steel pipe 100 against a spring force, the finishing dimension of the coating part end face can be secured within an allowable dimensional difference. The spacer plate 3 and work head 2 are retreated after completion of the work and the chuck device 8 is restored to the original position.
