STRUCTURE OF CLIP MOUNTING HOLE OF WEATHER STRIP

PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of rust on the end surface of an opening part by setting a core material within upper and lower molds and allowing molten rubber to flow in the molds to fill the clearance demarcated between the clip mounting hole opened to the core material and the projections of the molds with rubber. CONSTITUTION:A core material 13 is arranged between an upper mold 21 and a lower mold 23 to confront the projection 21a of the upper mold 21 with the projection 23a of the lower mold 23 and the projections 21b, 21b of the upper mold 21 are fitted in the recessed parts 13b, 13b of the core material 13 and the peripheral part of a clip mounting hole 13a is supported by the support pins 23b, 23b of the lower mold 23. A clearance alpha2 is filled with the rubber flowing in from a gate from a space part alpha1 and, in a weather strip 1, the surface and rear of the core material 13 are coated with rubber layers 25 and the thin rubber layer 25a integrated with the rubber layers 25 is also bonded and formed to the end surface of the opening part of the clip mounting hole 13a. No thin rubber layer is bonded to the recessed parts 13b, 13b but, since rusting preventing treatment is applied to the surface of the core material 13, there is no problem.
