HERBICIDE COMPOSITION FOR PADDY FIELD

PURPOSE:To provide a herbicide capable of controlling barnyard grass in a low amount by compounding S-(1-methyl-1-phenylethyl)piperidine-1-carbothioate, a specific sulfonium urea herbicide and a specified phenoxyphenoxy herbicide. CONSTITUTION:The subject composition capable of selectively controlling barnyard grass contains compounds of formulas I, II and III in a weight ratio of 1:0.003-0.07:0.03-0.3. The composition exhibits a high herbicidal activity to the barnyard grass in such an amount that each of the compounds can singly control the grass, and never gives any chemical damage to paddy rice. The treatment of paddy fields with the composition until the early time (until approximately 10 days after the transplantation of the paddy rice) of weed generation permits to obtain the highest effect. The composition further maintains the herbicidal activity for a long period of time and does not admit the post-generation of the barnyard grass until the harvesting time of paddy rice.
