LOCAL AREA NETWORK CONTROL SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To attain quick and simple procedure by using a prescribed tentative address to connect a data processor to a local area network, thereby allowing the processor to receive the assignment of a formal address. CONSTITUTION:The data processor (d) going to be connected newly to a local area network 5 requires an address management data to a master station (a) connected to the local area network 5 by using a prescribed tentative address and the master station (a) uses the prescribed tentative address as an opposite address to send the address management data. The data processor (d) decides an address with no duplication in the tentative address and the addresses of data processing units (a), (b), (c) connected already as its own address based on the address management data and informs it to the master station (a) and the master station (a) holds the address management data for which the decided address is added. Thus, a new data processor is connected freely to the local area network 5.
