METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TREATING EXHAUST GAS

PURPOSE:To simultaneously and efficiently perform the cooling, dust removal and absorbing reaction of exhaust gas by allowing exhaust gas to collide with a vertical partition wall and allowing fine particles of a cooling liquid having caught dust from the rising exhaust gas to fall to treat the exhaust gas. CONSTITUTION:In treating exhaust gas containing dust and chemical pollutants, at first, a cooling liquid is sprayed to exhaust gas G in a fine particle form by a sprayer 13 and the exhaust gas is allowed to collide with a vertical partition wall 9 to be converted to rising flow and the fine particles of the cooling liquid having caught dust from the rising exhaust gas are allowed to fall under gravity to be separated from the exhaust gas and collected by a cooling liquid collecting plate 5 to be discharged out of the system from a cooling liquid discharge pipe 10. The exhaust gas from which the fine particles of the cooling liquid are removed is brought into contact with an absorbing solution L and the chemical pollutants in the exhaust gas are absorbed in the absorbing solution L to be separated from the exhaust gas.
