PRODUCTION OF COLOR FILTER

PURPOSE:To provide the production process which can omit an intermediate layer by using a synthesized photosensitive resin obtained by dyeing a monomer having an N-alkoxylmethyl group with a dye having an anion group and an alcoholic hydroxyl group and then subjecting the monomer to heat treatment. CONSTITUTION:Relief patterns are formed by using the resin contg. the monomer having the structure of a ternary amine or quanternary ammonium salt and the monomer expressed by general formula I as copolymn. component on a base material in the process for producing the color filters by repeating the stage for dyeing and coloring the fine relief patterns formed of the dyeable resin by as number as the required number of colors. The relief patterns are dyed with the dye having the anion group and the alcoholic hydroxyl group and are thereby colored. The base material formed with the colored patterns is then subjected to the heating treatment. The formation of the color filters is possible without forming the intermediate layer while the synthetic photosensitive resin superior to natural resins in terms of sensitivity and stability is used; therefore, the number of production stages is decreased and the production cost is reduced.
