Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To shorten the length of a flat section for miniaturizing a compressor by providing a clearance groove on the contact surface of a plate with a reed valve plate and making the contact point of the flat section and curved surface of a valve guard become a position opposing to the clearance groove. CONSTITUTION:A reed valve plate 1 and valve guard 2 are integrally clamped and fixed to a plate 5, whose port 3 is opened, by a bolt 6. The joint point of the flat part and curved surface section of the valve guard 2 is installed at a position opposing to a clearance groove 4 through the valve plate 1. Therefore, the length l'2 of valve opening section in the range of clamping bearing generation due to the bolt 6 is generated therein can be shortened due to the existence of the clearance groove 4, and for this reason the required length e1' of the flat section of the valve guard 2 can also be shortened. Therefore, the whole of a compressor can be miniaturized.
