METHOD FOR OVERHAULING EXTRUSION TOOL

PURPOSE:To easily and surely separate a die ring from a bolster by moving and taking out a die slide in the direction crossed orthogonally with an extrusion direction, taking out an extrusion tool from this and sliding the die ring to the bolster and separating them from each other. CONSTITUTION:The die slide 3 arranged in contact with the rear end part of an end platen 1 is slided in the direction crossed orthogonally with the extruding direction and the extrusion material X is sheared on a surface including the front end face of the die slide 3. The extrusion tool 2 is supported and held on the die slide 3 taken out outside the extrusion machine. Directly after the extrusion tool 2 is taken out of the die slide 3, when the die ring 7 is slided to the bolster 8 in the direction crossed orthogonally with the direction of these axial lines, the residual extrusion material X is sheared without requiring a large shearing force on a surface including the front end face of the die ring 7.
