Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To obtain spherical beads of copper alginate eluting copper ion little by little, suppressing emergence of algae from beginning, by subjecting an aqueous solution of copper sulfate, etc., and an aqueous solution of sodium alginate in a specific ratio to substitution reaction and arranging the reaction product in the water. CONSTITUTION:Sodium alginate shown by formula I powder sold on the market is dissolved in distilled water to make 0.5-2.5% aqueous solution of sodium alginate, dissolved in an autoclave 1 and naturally cooled in a storage tank 2 to a room tempera ture of about 20 deg.C. Separately, copper sulfate pentahydrate shown by formula II is dissolved in distilled water in a storage tank 3 while continuously agitating by a stirrer 4 to give 1.0-5.0 % aqueous solution of copper sulfate and the previously pro duced solution of sodium alginate shown by formula I is dripped through liquid supply pipes 6 and 7 into the storage tank 3 by a liquid supply pump 5. In the operation, the liquid supply pipe 7 is divided to dripping pipes 7' at the tip part thereof to give spherical gel beads having about 2-6mm diameter. A device of cartridge shape is produced by using the product of this invention and acts only by fitting to give the objective heads shown by formula III capable of inexpensively destroying effects on microorganisms and algae for a long period of time.
