Zusammenfassung: | PURPOSE:To obtain a friction member excellent in frictional and wear characteristics by impregnating the pores and surface of a porous metal layer with a composition consisting of PFA, EPE or FEP, metallic lead, and PTFE. CONSTITUTION:The pores and surface of a porous metal layer provided on the surface of metal backing is impregnated and covered with a composition consisting of 0.5-30vol.% of at least one of PFA, EPE and FEP, 5-30vol.% metallic lead in the form of particles having such a mean particle diameter as to provide a specific surface of 1,000-8,500cm /g, and the balance of PTFE, with the total of components other than PTFE being 5.5-50vol.%, which is then baked in a neutral or reducing atmosphere to give an objective friction member. The EPE refers to a tetrafluoroethylene/hexafluoropropylene/perfluoroalkyl vinyl ether copolymer. The FEP refers to a tetrafluoroethylene/ hexafluoropropylene copolymer. |
