REFORMATTING PROCESSING SYSTEM FOR MAGNETIC DISK

PURPOSE:To shorten the time required for saving and restoring data by setting the waiting time after one track in accordance with the loading condition of an object magnetic disk. CONSTITUTION:An input/output suppressing flag is set in the entry of a device constitution table 2 by an input/output suppressing means 3 to suppress the input/output of a magnetic disk 1. Data of a track to be reformatted is saved by a track data saving means 9. The track is reformatted by a reformatting input/output 8. Data is stored and restored in the track reformatted by a track restoring means 10. The input/output suppressing flag is released by an input/ output suppression releasing means 4 to issue a input/output in holding. When reformatting is not terminated yet at this time, the processing is interrupted for the time arbitrarily set by an input/output suppression waiting means 5 to wait until input/output is suppressed by the suppressing means 3.
