METHOD FOR SUPPORTING PROGRAM UNDERSTANDING

PURPOSE:To make program understanding efficient by interpreting and executing a program, storing history information including required information, and at the time of executing the program, specifying the position information of specific input/output and outputting its corresponding history information. CONSTITUTION:When a source program name is inputted from an input device 202, its corresponding program constitution stored in an external storage device 205 is interpreted and analyzed by a memory 203 having a program storage area and an operation work area and a CPU 201 and the result is executed. Then history information including the execution step identification information of I/O following the execution, position information and digit number information is stored in the memory 203 as execution tracing information and outputted from an output device 204 in accordance with the specification input of the position information, so that the program understanding work of program maintenance work can be efficiently executed.
