IMAGE PICKUP DEVICE

PURPOSE:To trace and pickup a person freely by providing an ultrasonic wave sensor at both ends of a motor-driven universal head varying the direction and attitude of an image pickup device. CONSTITUTION:An ultrasonic wave sensor 100 and a parabolic antenna 101 are placed respectively to at left and right ends of a motor-driven universal head 7, an infrared ray sensor 102 is placed turnably in front of the universal head 7 and turned freely by a sensor scan motor 107. In the case of the ultrasonic wave sensor 100, an ultrasonic wave pulse of nearly 40kHz is sent from the ultrasonic wave sensor 100 placed at both ends of the universal head 7. When a distance with an object 200 measured by the sensors 100 at both ends differs, the direction of the sensor 100 is changed for the universal head 7 automatically so that the distance is made equal in interlocking with a driver of the motor-driven universal head 7 and the direction of the camera 1 is directed accordingly.
