AUTOMATIC CAR WASHER

PURPOSE:To prevent erroneous detection of beam sensors by locating a compressed air pipe in a manner to front on the light emitting and receiving surfaces of the beam sensors being a car body detecting means, and spraying compressed air against the light emitting and receiving surfaces through a compressed air pipe line when lowering of light receiving sensitivity of the beam sensor is detected. CONSTITUTION:Beam sensors 16a and 17a formed with two sets of light emitters and light receivers, the light emitters and the light receivers on both sides making respective pairs, are arranged in a case 18 formed integrally with a carrier which guides elevating operation of the blower nozzle of a portal car washer, in a manner to be displaced from each other. In a so formed structure, cover tubes 20 and 21 are mounted on beam signal transmitting and receiving windows 22 and 23 of the beam sensors 16a and 17a. An air nozzle 26 is situated in a manner to point to light emitting and receiving surfaces 27 and 28 of the beam sensors 16a and 17a, respectively, and connected to a compressed air source through an air hose 29 in which a solenoid valve is located. When lowering of light receiving sensitivity of the beam sensors 16a and 17a is detected, the solenoid valve is opened, and compressed air is sprayed against the light emitting and receiving surfaces 27 and 28 to remove a substance adhered on the surfaces 27 and 28.
