Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To efficiently produce an oxygen-contg. org. compd. such as epoxide by oxidizing olefin with oxygen in the presence of at least one kind of polar substance and a porphyrin complex as a catalyst. CONSTITUTION:Olefin is oxidized with oxygen in the presence of a polar substance such as alcohol or a nitrogen contg. compd. and a porphyrin complex as a catalyst to produce an oxygen-contg. org. compd. such as alpha,beta-unsatd. ketone, epoxide or epoxy alcohol. The porphyrin complex is represented by formula I (where each of R -R is 1-4C alkyl substituent, etc., and Z is the cation of a metal selected among groups IA VIA, IB-VIB and VIII metals). The oxidation is preferably carried out at 0-80 deg.C in an atmosphere contg. about 5-100vol.% oxygen.
