PLASTIC CLAD OPTICAL FIBER SHEET

PURPOSE:To decrease a light transmission loss and to obtain high heat resistance, high strength and better flexibility by arraying plural pieces of plastic clad optical fibers, the clad parts of which are the reaction cured matter of a resin compsn. essentially consisting of ladder type polymethyl-siloxane, and fixing these fibers to each other. CONSTITUTION:Plural pieces of the plastic clad optical fibers, the clad parts 2 of which are the reaction cured matter 2 of the resin compsn. essentially consisting of the ladder type polymethyl-siloxane are arrayed and the clad parts 2 are fixed to each other. This reaction cured matter 2 is extremely smaller in the light transmission loss than ordinary plastic material. Further, the easy fixing of the fibers to each other is executed by using the ladder type polymethyl-siloxane or other materials. The easy execution of molding to a sheet shape is possible as well. The plastic clad optical fiber sheet which is extremely little in the transmission loss and has the high toughness and heat resistance and the excellent flexibility is obtd. in this way.
