Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To obtain the title yarn suitable for medical materials such as gauze, bandage and covering cloth by extruding aqueous dope containing water-soluble algin into a hydrophilic organic solvent and spinning. CONSTITUTION:Aqueous dope containing a water-soluble algin (preferably Na salt, K salt, Mg salt, ammonium salt, organic amine salt or ester of alginic acid) and extruded into a hydrophilic organic solvent (preferably acetone, dioxane, ethylene glycol monoethyl ether, DMF, dimethyl sulfoxide, dimethylacetamide, acetonitrile, methyl ethyl ketone or phenol) and spun to give the objective yarn.
