SILICONE COMPOUND AND PRODUCTION THEREOF

PURPOSE:To obtain the title compound soluble in organic solvents, causing no gelation during production process, useful for e.g. film-forming liquids by reaction between trichlorosilane and water in dioxane solvent followed by reaction with a specific silylating agent. CONSTITUTION:A reaction is made between trichlorosilane and water in dioxane solvent to carry out a hydrolytic polycondensation of the silane followed by reaction with a silylating agent of formula R R R Si-X (R -R are each H or lower alkyl; X is halogen), thus obtaining the objective compound 1000-100000 in weight-average molecular weight and 0.8-10 in the ratio: Si-H/(R R R Si-O- and R R R Si-), made up of structures of formula I and formula II, respectively, and having terminal groups: R R R Si-O- (when bound to Si) and R R R Si- (when bound to O).
