Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To improve liquid yield, desulfurization ratio, denitrification ratio and demetalation ratio, etc., by hydrotreating a slurry composed of a coal or petroleum-based heavy oil and a solvent, then distilling and separating the treated slurry, further hydrotreating the separated oil and recycling the hydrogenated solvent for use. CONSTITUTION:A mixed slurry composed of coal, petroleum-based heavy oil and a solvent is subjected to hydrogenation reaction in the presence of hydrogen under conditions of 400-470 deg.C temperature, 150-200atm reaction pressure for 30-90min reaction time, then distilled and separated. A fraction boiling at 350-538 deg.C in the separated fractions is then further hydrogenated using a hydrogenating catalyst and part or all of the above-mentioned product is recycled for use as part of the aforementioned solvent.
