Zusammenfassung: | PURPOSE:To prevent an endface from corroding by solvent such as acetone, etc., by positioning the tip of a plastic optical fiber on this side of the other end of a through hole in a ferrule and charging the epoxy resin of a transmitting material into the other end part of the through hole in such a state. CONSTITUTION:The endface of a plastic optical fiber 1 is machined by a cutter, etc., and next, the fiber is inserted from one end of a through hole 2a in a ferrule 2. The insertion is stopped to the center of a recessed part 4 so that the fiber can not be exposed from the other end of the through hole 2a and the cover of the optical fiber 2 is fixed by calking a cylindrical part 6 in such a state. After calking, epoxy resin 3 of the light transmitting material is charged into the recessed part 4 at the tip part of the ferrule 2 and set. Thus, the endface does not corrode by the solvent such as acetone, etc., and transmissivity is prevented form being lowered. |
