STRUCTURE OF CONNECTING PART BETWEEN SIDE SILL AND MEMBER OF CAR BODY

PURPOSE:To prevent gasoline vapor from entering a compartment by forming a longitudinal flange of an extending part joined to a front end face flange of a sill-inner protrudingly in front of a car body at the tip of an extending part of a side member to make the sill-inner close an opening of the extending part. CONSTITUTION:Gasoline vapor flowing out of a canister flows from a side of a side member to a side of a dashboard lower crossmember 21, and attains an opening 22a. In this case, a front end flange 35 of a sill-inner 25 and a lower flange 36 of the sill-inner are adhesively joined through a longitudinal flange 21c and a lateral flange 21d of an extending part of the member 21, and an upper face 31 of the sill-inner 25 is adhesively joined to a lower face of a flange 9c of a dashboard lower patch 9, and a side face 33 of the sill-inner 25 is adhesively joined to a vertical part 9b of the dashboard lower patch 9. Since the opening 22a is therefore fully closed by the sill-inner 25, the gasoline vapor does not enter a side sill 24 through the opening 22a.
