CAR BODY STRUCTURE

PURPOSE:To improve operational stability and sound vibration performance by joining the rear end edge of a closing member to close an upper opening of a strut housing body to a dashboard lower panel. CONSTITUTION:When a load acts from a front suspension to a supporting part 18a of a closing member 18, a component of the load acts in a direction designated by an arrow. The component acts on a horizontal flange 12b of an upside member 12 of a hood ridge 11 and a joined part of a horizontal flange 15a of a hood ridge rain hose 15, but since the joined face is horizontally formed, the component acts on the joined part as shearing force to improve its strength. In addition to that, since an extending part 18b of a thick member 18 is joined to a dashboard lower panel 19, the above load is supported by the dashboard lower panel 19 through a supporting part 18a and the extending part 18b. Thus the rigidity against inward falling of the strut housing 14 can be improved.
